The Older Woman

Today is Jordan's 22nd birthday. He and I always get comments that we look younger than what we really are, which is nice. And people always tend to think that he is older than me. I think that is the general idea for everyone, but not us. I will be 24 in September. So that would make us almost a year and a half apart. I feel like for me, 22 was such a long time ago and here Jordan is embarking on the beginning of a whole year being 22. Well, good luck to him! It's not a bad year.

Jordan and I work at the same company on the same shift. We were both lucky today and did not have to work, so we had the whole day to play! We went to lunch at The Old Grist Mill and then off to the movies to see 'Taken'. The movie was awesome and I recommend it to everyone, if you like action packed movies!

We relaxed for a bit and then his mom came over to Logan from Tremonton and took us out to dinner at The Copper Mill Restaurant. There were no presents this year. I got him an XBOX 360 for Christmas/birthday so he's already had his gift for awhile now.

Love is in the air

Valentines' has come and gone. It is the start of a long strew of holidays. I love holidays! And Valentines' is one of my favorites. Jordan and I decided to not get each other any romantic gifts, and use the money to fix my forever broken car. The windshield has needed to be replaced for over a year now. I was supposed to re-register my car in September, but because of the broken windshield, did not pass inspection. So I have been driving around illegally for 6 months now. I have already received a ticket for my expired tags. One more and they are taking me to the slammer. Well, not me, but my car. I have memorized what police lights look like so I can tell when they are behind me and I take detours if necessary. All this will be put to an end, because tomorrow the windshield is getting fixed! Happy Valentines' to us!

We did, however, get to go out to eat. We drove down to Ogden, the pick of restaurants is so much greater there then here in Logan. Jordan had picked out 'The Prairie Schooner.' I had never heard of it before. When you first walk in, it looks like a normal restaurant. But as we were getting led to our table, we walked in to a room that was filled with covered wagons. There were camp fires and bobcats and stars in the night sky. Your table is in a covered wagon. It was so cool! The menu isn't very big and the prices were extremely expensive. We got away with a Valentines' special, so it wasn't too bad. It was definitely something everyone should experience.

Here is the inside of the restaurant.

Jordan and his steak dinner.

I never eat steak, but it was delicious!

Valentines' was great! Onto St. Patty's...

Showering babies

My best friend Caiti had her baby shower this past weekend. She is having a boy and his name will be Crue Diesel. Her due date is March 20, but her doctor said she would be early. She is WAY excited for him!

I was able to make some treats for the shower. After slaving away for three days, this is what I produced! A pregnant belly cake, which is the cutest idea I have ever seen (a found it on the internet) and some 'baby birds in a nest' cupcakes.

The cake was a long shot, but it turned out pretty well.

Here is a close up of the cupcakes!

On Sunday, after church, Jordan and I went to a dinner with his family. His Mom made an amazing dinner for us all! Jordan has an older sister, an older brother and a younger brother. They all have children. Payton and Jaden were born on the same day in May. And Jaxon and Ashton are twins that were born in October. All boys and they are 5 months apart. Needless to say there were babies everywhere!

Here I am holding Jaxon.

It was another good week for me! Valentine's Day is this weekend, one of my favorite holidays! I love pink and hearts and chocolate! Jordan and I are going to Ogden for dinner, the whereabouts are unknown to me because it is a surprise!

Superbowl?

I have never been one to really care about the Superbowl. My family is a basketball family (Go Wildcats!). I have had a few boyfriends who immensely cared about football, but I still never got into it. I went to my friend, Mickell's aunt's house, down in Roy, to watch it yesterday. I wasn't all that excited. Jordan's favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, were playing so it gave me a little but more reason to enjoy and help him root for them. I normally only watch for the commercials, the half time show, and I go for the FOOD!

For those of you who watched, it was a pretty exciting game. I was on the edge of my seat by the end. I thought for a second that the Steelers had lost it, but they overtook and won in the last seconds! My favorite commercial by far, was from Doritos. The half time, by Bruce Springsteen, was awful and not exciting at all. And the food was great! It also happened to be Mickell's birthday, so birthday cake was in the mix. And a relaxing hour in the hot tub outside in the backyard!

These are cupcakes I made for Mickell!

The night before, I was stoked to watch Jordan's nephew, Payton, for a whole 10 hours while Jordan's brother Spencer took Mickell out for her birthday. When I was younger, I pretty much babysat my life away. I was homeschooled for two years during middle school, so not only did I babysit on the weekends, but I got to do it during the day, while all the other eligible babysitters were at school. Needless to say, once I turned 16, I got sick of babysitting real quick and cared only about dating boys. The night was pretty uneventful: play, nap, play, nap, eat and then to bed. I found that I miss babysitting! And lucky me, have so many opportunities to do it, seeing as all my friends are bearing children.

Sleepy time.

I know, he looks so excited, but we had a good time!
