Greatest Experience

My best friend Caiti had her baby on Thursday! The coolest thing was, was that she asked if I wanted to be there for the birth. I jumped at the chance! She went into the doctor's on Wednesday at noon. The baby's heart beat was low, they sent her to the hospital to be induced. By the time she got into her room and hooked up on IV, it was 1:30. I got to the hospital around 3pm. The waiting game began.

There was a big group of us that was going to be there for the birth. Five people were allowed in the room. Around 9pm, there wasn't much progress, so the doctor came in and broke her water. We were excited that things were going to happen now! After the water breakage, Caiti received her epideral. Caiti was tired by then, so tried to get some rest. We all walked the halls and drank coffee, trying to stay awake.

Caiti, Cam, and I playing RISK to pass the time.

Not being able to get much sleep, we all crowded back into the room trying to pass more time. The contractions were coming but not very close together.

3:30 rolled around, and the nurse came in to tell us to get ready. Caiti's contractions were real close together. She was going to start her pushing, and call the doctor when the baby's head got close. We all gathered on the couch, on the sidelines. Cam (the dad) sat beside Caiti. The nurse coached her on how to push, and it began! We all sat silently while not too much happened. Caiti was pushing for over an hour. Felt like minutes to me. Finally the nurse started putting scrubs on and warming up the baby bed. Within minutes she called the doctor. It was time!

The doctor came in and put on all his scrubs. The tables where wheeled in. After pushing for about twenty or thirty more mintues, baby Crue arrived! I saw the baby come half way out and the doctor helped pull the rest out. It was such an amazing experience. Tears were streaming down everyone's face.

Pied Piper

Jordan and I went to Salt Lake for St. Patrick's Day. We watched an Irish band play, and I can't remember the name for the life of me! They were all dressed in kilts and vests. There were drummers and bag pipe players. It was so fun! I decked myself in green, Jordan didn't have really anything green to wear, but we got some green and white lei's at the concert.

The band played right in the crowd!

Draper Engagement

I went to the Draper temple opening last Saturday. I have never been to a temple opening before so it was exciting to go. It was extremely busy! It was fairly warm that day but by the time we got up to the temple, it was freezing and I wasn't wearing a jacket. So much for spring coming soon! Going through the temple was definitely an experience.

While we were in the sealing room, Jordan's little brother Spencer proposed to his girlfriend, Mickell! It was perfect timing. The sealing room was so pretty!

After the temple, we celebrated the engagement at 'The Old Spaghetti Factory'. Mickell's parents were with us too.

We had a family dinner with Jordan's family on Sunday. I like spending time with his family! One of his nephews was getting over being sick, annnnndddd now I'm sick. I hate being sick. I at least have time to recover. My job has been really slow still, so I'm jobless.

Blocks of Time

I went to another baby shower! It was for my friend Kristie's older sister Jessica. She is having a boy! I was able to make some treats for it. These baby blocks took me forever but they turned out cute.

My laptop computer charger broke almost two weeks ago so I haven't been able to get on the internet, which has been annoying. And just when I thought that my job was pretty secure, they up and tell us that we have no work for the next full month. So I've been sitting on my butt for the last two weeks. I'm just now starting to look for another job! I get real panicky when this happens! I hate not knowing when I'll be able to pay my bills. Cross your fingers for me. I need a job by this week!

Jordan and I hung out with our friend Mike last week. For those of you who don't know, I once had a pitbull-rotweiller named Sadie. She was my daughter pretty much. I took her everywhere with me. I moved a lot last summer and gave her to Jordan's friend. Needless to say, when he moved he got rid of her and didn't tell us. I called all the shelters in the area but never found her. Sad. I don't want to talk about it. BUT, our friend Mike just got a puppy that looks exactly like her! And now I want to steal his puppy away!

The Older Woman

Today is Jordan's 22nd birthday. He and I always get comments that we look younger than what we really are, which is nice. And people always tend to think that he is older than me. I think that is the general idea for everyone, but not us. I will be 24 in September. So that would make us almost a year and a half apart. I feel like for me, 22 was such a long time ago and here Jordan is embarking on the beginning of a whole year being 22. Well, good luck to him! It's not a bad year.

Jordan and I work at the same company on the same shift. We were both lucky today and did not have to work, so we had the whole day to play! We went to lunch at The Old Grist Mill and then off to the movies to see 'Taken'. The movie was awesome and I recommend it to everyone, if you like action packed movies!

We relaxed for a bit and then his mom came over to Logan from Tremonton and took us out to dinner at The Copper Mill Restaurant. There were no presents this year. I got him an XBOX 360 for Christmas/birthday so he's already had his gift for awhile now.

Happy Birthday my love!

Love is in the air

Valentines' has come and gone. It is the start of a long strew of holidays. I love holidays! And Valentines' is one of my favorites. Jordan and I decided to not get each other any romantic gifts, and use the money to fix my forever broken car. The windshield has needed to be replaced for over a year now. I was supposed to re-register my car in September, but because of the broken windshield, did not pass inspection. So I have been driving around illegally for 6 months now. I have already received a ticket for my expired tags. One more and they are taking me to the slammer. Well, not me, but my car. I have memorized what police lights look like so I can tell when they are behind me and I take detours if necessary. All this will be put to an end, because tomorrow the windshield is getting fixed! Happy Valentines' to us!

We did, however, get to go out to eat. We drove down to Ogden, the pick of restaurants is so much greater there then here in Logan. Jordan had picked out 'The Prairie Schooner.' I had never heard of it before. When you first walk in, it looks like a normal restaurant. But as we were getting led to our table, we walked in to a room that was filled with covered wagons. There were camp fires and bobcats and stars in the night sky. Your table is in a covered wagon. It was so cool! The menu isn't very big and the prices were extremely expensive. We got away with a Valentines' special, so it wasn't too bad. It was definitely something everyone should experience.

Here is the inside of the restaurant.

I never eat steak, but it was delicious!

Valentines' was great! Onto St. Patty's...

Showering babies

My best friend Caiti had her baby shower this past weekend. She is having a boy and his name will be Crue Diesel. Her due date is March 20, but her doctor said she would be early. She is WAY excited for him!

I was able to make some treats for the shower. After slaving away for three days, this is what I produced! A pregnant belly cake, which is the cutest idea I have ever seen (a found it on the internet) and some 'baby birds in a nest' cupcakes.

The cake was a long shot, but it turned out pretty well.

Here is a close up of the cupcakes!

On Sunday, after church, Jordan and I went to a dinner with his family. His Mom made an amazing dinner for us all! Jordan has an older sister, an older brother and a younger brother. They all have children. Payton and Jaden were born on the same day in May. And Jaxon and Ashton are twins that were born in October. All boys and they are 5 months apart. Needless to say there were babies everywhere!

Here I am holding Jaxon.

It was another good week for me! Valentine's Day is this weekend, one of my favorite holidays! I love pink and hearts and chocolate! Jordan and I are going to Ogden for dinner, the whereabouts are unknown to me because it is a surprise!

Superbowl?

I have never been one to really care about the Superbowl. My family is a basketball family (Go Wildcats!). I have had a few boyfriends who immensely cared about football, but I still never got into it. I went to my friend, Mickell's aunt's house, down in Roy, to watch it yesterday. I wasn't all that excited. Jordan's favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, were playing so it gave me a little but more reason to enjoy and help him root for them. I normally only watch for the commercials, the half time show, and I go for the FOOD!

For those of you who watched, it was a pretty exciting game. I was on the edge of my seat by the end. I thought for a second that the Steelers had lost it, but they overtook and won in the last seconds! My favorite commercial by far, was from Doritos. The half time, by Bruce Springsteen, was awful and not exciting at all. And the food was great! It also happened to be Mickell's birthday, so birthday cake was in the mix. And a relaxing hour in the hot tub outside in the backyard!

These are cupcakes I made for Mickell!

The night before, I was stoked to watch Jordan's nephew, Payton, for a whole 10 hours while Jordan's brother Spencer took Mickell out for her birthday. When I was younger, I pretty much babysat my life away. I was homeschooled for two years during middle school, so not only did I babysit on the weekends, but I got to do it during the day, while all the other eligible babysitters were at school. Needless to say, once I turned 16, I got sick of babysitting real quick and cared only about dating boys. The night was pretty uneventful: play, nap, play, nap, eat and then to bed. I found that I miss babysitting! And lucky me, have so many opportunities to do it, seeing as all my friends are bearing children.

Sleepy time.

I know, he looks so excited, but we had a good time!

Black Vixen

I had a little hair dying party with my friend Caiti this week. I don't know what it is about me and wanting to always change my hair color. I don't think I have ever found a color that I liked enough to keep. Normally, it turns out fairly decent, but this time it was the complete opposite. My hair didn't turn out horrible but it was not what I was expecting. It went from medium brown to black. The bottle said 'dark brown.' And my hair is just weird so it skipped the brown part altogether and went to black. Yipee. I'm not too excited about it. My hair is going to fall out of my head soon because I dye it so much. So black vixen for now.

(It seems I'm good at cutting my own hair too. If you look at the bottom of my lips and to the left, if you just cut off the long hair, there would be a short hair cut there. Next time: a salon.)

I went and saw 'Bride Wars' last week with Caiti and Mickell. I thought it was a really cute movie. Kate Hudson is my absolute favorite! Caiti is engaged, Mickell practically is too, and then there was me. Not that I am extremely angry that I am not married by now. But movies like this depress me a little. As for anyone that I grew up with knows, I was hoping to be married early in life. Don't ask me why. Just a dream. And I will undoubtly be the LAST one. Isn't it ironic? Don't ya think? At least I have a boyfriend, right?

I went to church today with Jordan's little brother, Spencer and his girlfriend Mickell. It was a good day. It's nice to know that challenges come to everyone. Sometimes I feel like other people's lives are perfect, but nobody's really is. It's all on the outlook of life. I would say mine has gotten more positive, but still isn't up to par maybe. I'm trying. Love is all you need.

Payton, Mickell's son, wore the cutest little suit to church too.

He was more interested in eating my camera though.

The weeks seem to be going by faster, for me anyways. Warm weather will be here before I know it! Hopefully! (crosses fingers)

Introducing...ME.

I'm please to announce my breakthrough in the blog world! I was waiting until I got married to start one, but that seems to be too far off. :) Many of my friends are single and have blogs, and so here I am!

My whole life, pretty much, I grew up in Fredericksburg, VA! At 18, for Winter semester at BYU-I, I headed off to Rexburg, ID. I had never been on the west side of the United States and never somewhere so far north. I arrived in Jan 2004 to a massive blizzard! For those of you who don't know, I HATE snow! I survived the semester and went home for the summer. I had been accepted into the Culinary Arts program and would start back up in the Fall.

While at school, my parents had moved to Utah, they also never venturing from the East coast. Taking a break from school, after summer of 2005, I moved to Pleasant Grove, UT. I resided there with my parents, and five younger siblings. (My older brother is married with three children.)

In the summer of 2006, I took a chance on a job and moved to Cincinnati, OH for the summer. I was estatic to be back towards the East coast. While being an office manager for a security company there, I met my boyfriend, Jordan! We have been together for 2 and 1/2 years now. He had been living in Tremonton, UT at his Mom's. After commuting for 7 months or so, we both moved to Logan to be closer together.

So here I am, in Logan, UT. Massive amounts of snow and all. I am currently working and hoping to move somewhere, anywhere soon! Most likely closer to my Mom in PG. I have yet to go back to school, I feel it's too late but I guess it never is too late. (BYU-I got rid of their CA program and that is mostly why I never went back.)

Just living life and waiting for big things to happen! :)
